Rachel Magana, A Coaches Journey... Lessons I've Learned Along the Way

Club and Coaching Philosophy:
Rachel Magana has played or coached volleyball most of her life. She has a passion for the sport and a strong dedication to teaching not only volleyball skills, but also life skills to her players and coaches. Rachel conceived the concept of Southwind Volleyball Tribe in 2004 and has since built an extremely competitive National-level club. Southiwnd teams range from developmental recreation to National competitive. Rachel specializes in weaving leadership, self-esteem and time management skills into a foundation of volleyball and competitive sports.
Competition and Coaching Experience:
Rachel draws her coaching strategies and philosophies from her experience as a player. She played varisty volleyball for Penn Valley Community College, Johnson County Community College and William Woods University. After gradtuation she began her coaching career with Penn Valley Juniors, Olathe Christian School and Springhill High School. While at Olathe Christian School her team wond the state chamipionship in the Kansas Christian League and the National Championship for the HOme School League. She was also Junior Varisty Head Caoch for Mid-America Nazarene University. She coached for several other regional volleyball clubs prior to founding Southwind.
